RYAN GIGGS will end his 29-year association with Manchester United after rejecting a reduced coaching role under Jose Mourinho.
The 42-year-old joined the Old Trafford club on his 14th birthday back in 1987, but snubbed the offer of a lower job under new boss Mourinho, believing that the club have gone back on their agreement to give him the manager's job, according to the
Giggs worked as assistant manger under Louis van Gaal, but his representatives have are now negotiating over a pay-off for the final year of his contract. He was briefly the interim United manager for the end of the 2013/14 season after David Moyes was sacked.
Mourinho has brought in his own trusted assistant, Rui Faria, who served under Mourinho at Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid. Faria had been a fitness coach at Uniao Leiria and Porto before.
The report continues that Giggs is yet to have contact with Mourinho directly. The Portuguese starts his role as United manager on Monday.

The Welsh wing wizard made a club-record 963 appearances for United and went on to win the Champions League twice, 13 Premier League titles and the FA Cup four times during his trophy-laden time at United.
