Salah was prompted to act after learning that coronavirus victims were dying due to oxygen shortages in state hospitals.

The forward provided his lifesaving donation through the Nagrig Charity Association, which he founded in 2017.

NCA director Hassan Bakr told a Cairo radio station on Sunday: "Salah and his family have donated oxygen cylinders to the Basyoun Central Hospital to help coronavirus patients in Nagrig.

"He often intervenes in problems back in Egypt by donating.";
