Grave-digging may be the perfect sport for our Three Lions flops to take up after Euro 2016
WE have found the perfect sport for football fans down in the chops over our England flops' humiliating exit from Euro 2016.
A sporting event that somehow sums up the national mood... a grave-digging contest.
Competitors in Hungary, working in 18 two-man teams, grafted furiously to dig as many graves as possible for a place in the international championships to be held in Poland later this year.
The winners Janos Racz and Laszlo Toth used spades, rakes, and pickaxes to carve out regulation-size graves in the bizarre spectacle in Debrecen.
And SunSport believes the hard work and graft on show would be a wake-up call to our pampered Premier League stars whose soft underbelly was all too evident against Iceland on Monday.
Head judge and board member of the National Burial Association and Guild, Béla Puskás, said: "The funeral culture and the rules are very important for all of us, but the biggest responsibility is on those colleges who meet with the relatives."
Photographer Dalma snapped the contestants as they dug regulation-size graves measuring 2ft 7in wide, 6 ft 6 in long and 5 ft 3 in deep.
