Chelsea and Man City want James Rodriguez but ace keen on Paris Saint-Germain move
Premier League duo have asked to Real Madrid about Colombian's availability, but French champs spoke to agent
James Rodriguez is a target for both Manchester City and Chelsea but it is Paris Saint-Germain who are in the driving seat for the Real Madrid ace, according to reports in Spain.
The Colombian has often found himself out of the starting line-up under Zinedine Zidane.
Chelsea and City have made their interest clear after they asked Real Madrid about the player’s availability.
However, PSG have reportedly called the player’s agent directly and tabled an ‘irresistible’ offer.
Zidane has made his feelings clear to the Real Madrid board — the best course of action is to sell as Rodriguez does not feature in his future plans.
Emery has proven himself a master in reinvigorating players.
He recently turned around the career of once highly-rated Ever Banega, whose career appeared to be on the wane at Valencia when he was sent on loan to his native Argentina.
However, Emery helped establish him as a central figure in his Sevilla team when he bought him in 2014 and he was a part of his country’s Copa America squad.
PSG are desperate to make a marquee signing after losing icon, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and have been heavily linked with Neymar.
Rodriguez showed recently he is still a top level player with his impressive performances at the Copa America as Colombia finished third.
As well as the former Porto and Monaco ace, Real Madrid have reportedly put Isco, Raphael Varane, Jese and Alvaro Morata up for sale.
Spain striker, Morata, is a target for Premier League heavyweights such as Manchester United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal.
While Arsene Wenger is also interested in bringing Isco to the Emirates.
Varane is Real Madrid’s third-choice striker and may fancy a reunion with Jose Mourinho, who made him a regular during his time at the Bernabeu.
