Sadio Mane makes up a team of Southampton players to have left club since Premier League promotion
The Saints have recouped a mega £178million on ten outfield players who have moved onto Champions League chasers over the last three years
SADIO MANE completed his £30million move to Liverpool today – and catapulted himself into SunSport’s ‘Southampton Sales XI’.
The Saints have recouped a MEGA £178m on ten outfield players they have sold getting back into the Prem.
And that does not include the hefty compensation fees that they have received when former bosses Mauricio Pochettino and Ronald Koeman left.
Mane is the latest to leave St Mary’s after penning a four-year-deal at Anfield that should see him bank around £100,000 a week.
Of course Pochettino and Koeman - who left for Everton earlier this summer - are on the sidelines.
Argentinian Poch is the main man after constructing a title challenge with Spurs last season.
Gareth Bale, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all left too soon to be considered for the team.
For those who need reminding what they looked like in a Saints shirt, here you go...
And here is the Saints' XI who have ditched the south coast club in search of a title tilt…
GK: Artur Boruc
Fee: nothing
Okay, so he didn't cost anything - but Boruc made 50 appearances for Saints in his two-year stay before the club brought in Fraser Forster as their No1.
RB: Nathaniel Clyne
Fee: £12.5m
The former Crystal Palace youth star made 104 appearances for his second club before leaving when Liverpool made signing a top right-back a priority at the beginning of last season.
CB: Dejan Lovren
Fee: £20m
The Croatian was another to leave for Anfield, making the move a season before Clyne after just a year with Saints.
CB: Calum Chambers
Fee: £16m
Made just 22 Saints appearances - mostly off the bench - but showed Arsenal scouts enough to convince boss Arsene Wenger that he was worth bringing to the Emirates.
LB: Luke Shaw
Fee: £33m
Was wanted by a host of top clubs and opted to move to Manchester United after deciding against Chelsea after his family met Jose Mourinho - who will the injury-prone speedster next season.
LM: Jason Puncheon
Fee: £1.75m
The Crystal Palace winger is by far the cheapest of the bunch and arguably the best value for money too.
CM: Victor Wanyama
Fee: £11.5m
The first of two Saints players to leave in the last week as the midfield powerhouse upped sticks to work with former boss Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham.
CM: Morgan Schneiderlin
Fee: £24m
Ended seven years of service for the south coast club last summer and opted for a move to Manchester United ahead of rivals Arsenal.
RM: Adam Lallana
Fee: £25m
Slow start to life at Anfield but found form towards the end of last season and looks set to be one of the Reds’ key men next campaign when they push for a Champions League spot.
CF: Rickie Lambert
Fee: £4m
One of the five that left for Liverpool but lasted just a year at his boyhood club before a lack of action led to a move to West Brom.
CF: Sadio Mane
Fee: £30m
The second most expensive of the bunch and time will tell whether the man who Klopp tracked for four years proves to be worth the outlay.
