Leicester close to landing Nice star Nampalys Mendy as £13m deal is agreed ahead of four-year contract
Frenchman to become Claudio Ranieri's second signing of the summer and could replace Premier League target N'Golo Kante
LEICESTER are on the verge of signing Nampalys Mendy after a £13million deal was struck with Nice.
Claudio Ranieri is keen to bolster his ranks with new signings after storming to the title last season, and Mendy looks set to become the Foxes’ second capture following the arrival of goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.
claims Mendy will sign a four-year contract with Leicester ahead of his proposed transfer, and the 24-year-old could arrive at the King Power as a replacement for N’Golo Kante.
The France international is being chased by Chelsea and Arsenal, and is believed to be available for £20m thanks to his release clause.
As revealed exclusively by SunSport, new Blues boss Antonio Conte wants to deploy Kante at the heart of his midfield at Stamford Bridge next season.
Long-serving Nigeria international John Obi Mikel looks set to make way, with Roma’s Radja Nainggolan also on Conte’s radar.
