MANCHESTER CITY will have to beat Champion League rivals Real Madrid to the signing of Brazilian starlet Gabriel Jesus.
The Palmeiras striker is the subject of a £16.7million bid from Pep Guardiola’s Premier League side and is wanted by Madrid’s La Liga rivals Barcelona.
However, Real have upped their interest in the 19-year-old and started sending high-level officials to Brazil to keep an eye on the talent.
Barca sent director Raul Sanllehi to Tuesday's 2-0 over America Minero to keep tabs on the teenager.
City already know that they face a struggle to sign the forward with Italian and German champions Juventus and Bayern Munich after his signature.
Gabriel has been billed as the new Neymar in his homeland and has revealed that it would be a dream to play for the Catalan club.
