‘Lionel Messi doesn’t like Neymar’s ego’: Shock allegations from Spain suggest Barcelona stars at war
Brazilian superstar does not see how he can win Ballon d'Or while playing in Argentine's shadow, according to allegations
LIONEL MESSI does not like Neymar's ego and the Brazilian cannot see himself winning the Ballon d'Or while playing alongside the Argentine, a Spanish reporter has sensationally claimed.
In allegations that threaten to tear apart the fabled MSN partnership, the journalist also said Neymar suffers an "even worse" relationship with Nou Camp boss Luis Enrique.
The Samba star's future in Spain continues to be an area of uncertainty.
Even his dad chimed in recently, claiming his son knows he will play second fiddle to Messi and that that could spark a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Stoking the fire is the claim of OK Diario reporter Eduardo Inda, who says a toxic atmosphere has developed between the two.
He said: "Messi doesn't like Neymar's ego, who, in turn, doesn't see how he could win the Ballon d'Or alongside Messi.
"Relations with Luis Enrique are even worse than with Messi.
"He said in the locker room, 'That is it' in front of all his companions."
The Argentine, whose inch-perfect free-kick against America helped book his country a spot in the Copa America final on Sunday, has won the Ballon d'Or five times.
His most recent triumph came in January, reclaiming the trophy from Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo, who won it the previous two years.
However, undermining the claims are the words of their Barcelona team-mate Ivan Rakitic.
The Croatia star said Neymar, Messi and Luis Suarez are the "best friends in the world".
He added: "The surprising thing about Messi, Neymar and Suarez is they are not egotistical. Despite having three different personalities there is complete harmony."
