Tottenham ‘can sign Milan Skriniar if they cough up £45m transfer fee with Inter Milan keen to sell’
TOTTENHAM can reportedly sign Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar for £45million next month.
Fabrizio Romano claims Jose Mourinho can add the highly-rated defender to his squad when the January transfer window opens if he presents Inter with the offer as soon as possible.
He adds that Inter are in desperate need of money and are willing to offload one of their best players immediately.
Tottenham were strongly linked with a move for Skriniar, 25, over the summer.
The Slovakia international is in his fourth season at the San Siro and has impressed with 130 appearances.
A deal looked close when Tottenham bid farewell to veteran centre-back Jan Vertonghen, who departed on a free transfer to Benfica.
Mourinho eventually plumped for Swansea’s Joe Rodon instead.
The Wales international had a good debut in the 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Sunday.
But Spurs could yet add Skriniar to their squad with doubts over the futures of Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez.
And with the ace available for just £45m, all eyes will be on north London when the January window opens.
Romano told the Here We Go Podcast: “Milan Skriniar’s situation hasn’t changed.
“Inter Milan needs money. If Spurs arrive tomorrow morning with £45m, Inter will sell him.
“[The deal for Skiniar] is up to Tottenham now.”
