MANCHESTER United striker James Wilson is expected to go out on loan again next season – because of Marcus Rashford’s incredible rise.

The 20-year-old, who spent the last campaign on loan at Brighton, will hold talks with boss Jose Mourinho next week.

He is expected to be told he will be free to leave United for the entire season – with a number of Premier League and Championship clubs interested in signing him.

Mourinho will sit down with all his fringe players next week to discuss their futures.

Wilson spent most of last season on loan with the Seagulls, where he bagged just five goals in 24 outings.
One club keen on Wilson are Championship outfit Birmingham.

Another likely to be sounded out are Blues’ West Midlands rivals Aston Villa.

Relegated Villa have appointed Roberto Di Matteo as boss with new Chinese owner Dr Tony Xia looking to spend his way out of the Championship.

And Steve Clarke, assistant to Di Matteo, may look to take advantage of his hotline to pal Jose Mourinho, who he worked as assistant boss at Chelsea.

Wilson recently spoke about his development as a player and reckons he is a different person now.
He said: “I’m more of an extrovert now.

“I was quite shy when I first came in.

“I think I’ve developed as a player and as a person as well.

“That was a big part of me moving away from Manchester.
“I’ve always been in and around Manchester since I was seven.

“I’m used to whatever goes on and moving up the age groups.”
