NORTHERN IRELAND hero Michael McGovern is wanted by Southampton after his Euro 2016 heroics.
Free agent McGovern, 32, played a blinder against Germany to make sure that Michael O'Neill's men made the last 16 - and also attracted growing interest.
Saints have made contact with the former Hamilton Accies keeper and have offered him a deal to come as cover for England's Fraser Forster.
The terms are good and tempting McGovern, who would be a replacement for veteran Kelvin Davis who has finally hung up his gloves.
