RONALD KOEMAN is planning a shock swoop for Holland legend Wesley Sneijder.

The Dutchman wants to bring in his fellow countryman after Galatasaray were booted out of the Europa League by Uefa for breaching financial fair play rules.

And with their star player Sneijder therefore out of European contention he could be tempted to take the plunge into Premier League football for the first time in his career.

The former Ajax, Real Madrid and Inter star won the Champions League under Jose Mourinho in Milan in 2010.

The 32-year-old has been linked with switches to the Premier League sides several times in the past including Manchester United and Arsenal.

Sneijder should cost Everton a bargain £5.75million - and he would re-join Koeman who he worked with at Ajax earlier in his career.

The Dutch star would be the latest big name to join the Goodison Park revolution - with £100m at Koeman's disposal.

Keen to bring in some big-name experience for the likes of Ross Barkley to learn from, Koeman would be bringing in a player who can net goals from midfield, with 40 goals in 142 games for the Turkish club.

As SunSport reported previously, Everton are also interested in current Portugal and former Old Trafford star Nani.

Koeman has also assured the Toffees faithful over young stars John Stones and Barkley, promising a no-nonsense approach to keeping them at the club.
