Victor Wanyama confirms he’s passed Tottenham medical as midfield star bids farewell to Southampton
Kenya international set to be signed by Mauricio Pochettino for a second time with £11million deal on verge of completion
VICTOR WANYAMA has bid farewell to Southampton after passing a medical at Tottenham.
The defensive midfielder will become Mauricio Pochettino’s first summer signing after Spurs finished third behind Arsenal and Tottenham in the title race.
Wanyama was signed by the Argentine boss during his time at Southampton, becoming a key player as the Saints established themselves as a true Premier League force.
And the pair will now be reunited at White Hart Lane, where Wanyama could line up alongside Eric Dier and Dele Alli in a formidable midfield triumvirate.
Southampton are already on the search for a new manager after Ronald Koeman joined Everton, and could reportedly move to replace Wanyama with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey.
The 24-year-old became a fan favourite during his three years at St. Mary’s, and he has promised to always hold the club in his heart after confirming his move to north London is a done deal.
