Emanuele Giaccherini’s agent confirms he would jump at chance for ‘dream’ move to join Antonio Conte at Chelsea
EMANUELE GIACCHERINI has his heart set on a ‘dream’ move to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea this summer.
That’s according to the Italy international’s agent, who adds Giaccherini is available for a cut-price fee from Sunderland.
Conte is a big fan of the midfielder, with the pair working together during two seasons at Juventus.
Giaccherini won back-to-back titles under Conte between 2011 and 2013, and has since helped newly-promoted Bologna retain their Serie A status after joining on loan from the Stadium of Light last August.
Giaccherini is now playing a key role for Conte’s Italy at Euro 2016 having taken advantage of injuries to key midfielders Marco Verratti and Claudio Marchisio.
The 31-year-old was named man of the match after opening the scoring in the 2-0 win against Belgium and also started in the 1-0 victory over Sweden on Friday.

The 46-year-old could utilise a 3-5-2 formation in west London, and Giaccherini’s versatility would be a handy addition to the Blues squad.
Whether a move occurs remains to be seen, but agent Furio Valcareggi admits that joining Chelsea would be a ‘dream’ for his client.
: “Giaccherini is a player who played 80 per cent of the games for a Juventus that had Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal and Marchisio in midfield.
“Conte likes him a lot and Chelsea would be a dream. It’s still too early to talk about his future. After the Euros, whoever wants to buy him will not have to pay a high price to Sunderland.”
