Swansea plot £10million transfers for West Ham striker Enner Valencia and Liverpool’s Danny Ings
Liberty Stadium supremo Huw Jenkins wants some new hitmen to bolster Francesco Guidolin’s side next season
SWANSEA are to make stunning £10million moves for West Ham’s unsettled striker Enner Valencia and Liverpool star Danny Ings.
Liberty Stadium supremo Huw Jenkins wants new hitmen to bolster Francesco Guidolin’s side.
And the two talented attackers fit the bill if the price is right — and wages are agreed.
Valencia, 26, knows he could lose his starting place in West Ham’s side.
Boss Slaven Bilic used him sparingly last season and new strikers are due to join.
The Hammers will let the Ecuadorian go — along with Diafra Sakho, 26 — as Bilic aims to reshape his forward line this summer and one of his targets is Swansea’s Andre Ayew.
There could yet be a swap deal, although the Ghanaian, 26, is NOT top of Bilic’s wishlist and his fee is considered too steep.
Ings is high on Swansea’s list but they are interested in taking both players.
The former Burnley star, 23, is back from a knee operation and the Swans believe he would be an excellent addition.
However, Liverpool have faith in Ings and he wants to impress Jurgen Klopp.
Swans are also keen on old boys Joe Allen at Liverpool and Wilfried Bony with Manchester City.
But they are now on bigger pay deals, making a return to Wales difficult.
CHELSEA look like winning the race to sign Barcelona babe Sergio Gomez.
The Stamford Bridge club have been tipped off that the 15-year-old attacking talent could be tempted to leave.
And they have made significant progress in their bid to land Gomez, ahead of other interested Premier League clubs — including Liverpool.
Chelsea may be willing to pay as much as £7m in compensation to Catalan giants Barca, to avoid a fight for the talented youngster.
LEEDS have closed in on a deal for Manchester United’s Ashley Fletcher — but it will cost them big wages and a fee.
Owner Massimo Cellino is keen on the young striker and is beating off Championship rivals Barnsley, Wolves and Bristol City with an attractive package.
Fletcher, 20, wants to shoot up to a £7,000-a-week salary and Leeds will pay that.
They are also determined to sort a price with the Old Trafford giants — who had hoped he would stay.
MANCHESTER CITY want to hire highly rated coach Lee Carsley to run their top youth teams.
Carsley, 42, is looking for a job after leaving Brentford — and has been approached to work with City’s best kids following a shake-up.
The FA also want Carsley but City’s offer may be too good to refuse.
CELTIC boss Brendan Rodgers will get no favours from old club Liverpool after asking for both Andre Wisdom and Joe Gomez on loan.
Rodgers wants the defensive pair — as we revealed — but the Reds have snubbed short-term deals.
They will let full-back Wisdom, 23, go for £3million, while Rodgers must sell to get his man.
PLAY-OFF final flops Sheffield Wednesday aim to order a double Scotch to fire up a fresh promotion push.
The Owls fancy Blackburn centre-half Grant Hanley and free agent Steven Fletcher.
Scotland defender Hanley, who is sought after by several clubs, will cost about £5million.
Fletcher, capped 28 times by the Scots, is available after a brief spell with Marseille.
But the striker wants £40,000 a week and that has put the chase for him on hold until his demands come down.
HULL fear losing Steve Bruce as he fumes about their lack of planning for the Premier League.
The Tigers were promoted in the play-offs last month but boss Bruce knows their squad is too lightweight.
And with no sign of funds for new recruits, Bruce has told pals he will go if the exit package is right.
A Hull insider said: “We’ve hardly heard from the boss since the Wembley final and nobody knows whether he is going to stay or not.”
STRIKER James Vaughan could sign for Scottish giants Rangers.
The ex-Everton ace, 27, is in talks but would prefer to stay in England after leaving Huddersfield in the close season.
Ambitious Terriers are set to sign Jack Payne, 21, from Southend.
And they also plan to make a final bid for Nottingham Forest’s Jamie Paterson after a successful loan spell.
But Forest are pushing for around £1m for the striker, 24, who can also play wide.
