ROBBIE KEANE is set for an emotional return to LA Galaxy as their new manager.
The Republic of Ireland legend spent five years on the East Coast with the iconic MLS club from 2011 and scored 83 goals in 125 goals appearances
The 40-year-old has agreed to take over from Guillermo Barros Schelotto, who looks set to be axed after an awful start to the campaign.
SunSport understands he has already got a backroom team in place to head Stateside with him for his first managerial role.
As things stand, are slumped at the bottom of the MLS after 16 games.
They suffered a 4-0 defeat to San Jose in the league on Thursday night.
Keane has been out-of-work since leaving in June following Jonathan Woodgate’s sacking.
Boro said in a statement at the time: "Robbie Keane has opted to leave the club.
“The Irishman’s contract was due to expire at the end of the current season and with Neil Warnock bringing in his own coaches.

Keane hung up his boots in 2018 after an incredible 23-year playing career.
He captained his country for a decade and bagged 325 goals in 737 games for 10 different clubs.
