STOKE  have made a £15million move to sign controversial striker Saido Berahino from West Brom.

And Baggies will not stand in the player’s way if he wants to leave for the Potteries.

Watford have also reportedly made a bid for West Bromwich's Saido Berahino

Boss Mark Hughes is keen on the England starlet, who saw a move to Spurs blocked last year when Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace refused to do business with Daniel Levy.

Berahino even threatened to go on strike last September when his White Hart Lane dream was snatched away on deadline day.

Hughes had expected to go head-to-head with Tottenham for the 22-year-old hitman this time round.

But now Stoke have got in first and both clubs say the deal is there to be done.

Albion boss Tony Pulis would want to use the money from the sale to rebuild his  Baggies squad, whose average age — 29 years 197 days — is the oldest in the  Premier League.
