Juve got it wrong

Toni Kroos’ brother blasts reports Real Madrid man to be included on top of £95million in Paul Pogba deal

Felix Kroos scoffs at rumours of players switching clubs, insisting cash should switch hands in other direction

Toni Kroos’ brother has slammed rumours the Real Madrid player will be included in a deal to bring Paul Pogba from Juventus.

It has recently been reported that the European champions were preparing offering the German PLUS £95million for the in-demand Frenchman.

However, Felix Kroos believes any deal should the other way round, insisting there is nobody better than older sibling Toni in his position.

He said: “The other day, I read that Juventus would only sell Pogba to Real Madrid for £95m plus Toni Kroos.

“It is Juventus who would have to pay £95m plus Pogba to sign Toni.

“Toni is the best in the world at his role.”

German international, Kroos, established himself as a top level midfielder at Bayern Munich but moved to Real Madrid in the summer of 2014.

He further enhanced his reputation with a superb performance at the World Cup that summer, as Germany celebrates a fourth success in Brazil.

And, last season, he played a key role as Real Madrid clinched a record-extending 11th Champions League victory.

Kroos’ hopes of adding a maiden European Championships crown to his already burgeoning trophy cabinet have got off to a good start as Germany overcame Ukraine 2-0 in their Euro 2016 opener.

Pogba, meanwhile, transformed himself into one of the game’s leading central midfielders after his free transfer from Manchester United to Juventus in 2012.

The Frenchman is subject of interest from all of Europe’s heavyweights — with new Old Trafford boss, Jose Mourinho, intent on making the 23-year-old his first marquee signing.

However, it is Real Madrid who have leapt to the front of the queue with Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, having already held talks with Jose Angel Sanchez.

The French midfielder's Euro 2016 also started with a victory as the hosts beat Romania 2-1.
