Attack-minded Tottenham hope they’ve discovered their very own Marcus Rashford

TOTTENHAM have offered a contract to striker Wilfried Kanga.

Chairman Daniel Levy and manager Mauricio Pochettino hope the French teenager can make the same impact on the Premier League as Marcus Rashford did for Manchester United when he was literally plucked out of the blue last season.

Kanga, 18, is a free agent after his contract at Paris St-Germain expired at the end of last season.

The French teenager striker already represented the Ivory Coast at Under-20 level.

He made a name for himself last season in the UEFA Youth League,  catching the eye with a goal against Real Madrid in the semi--final.

Benfica are also thought to be interested but Spurs, often accused of ignoring their attacking options despite their third-place in the Premier League, are considered favourites.

The north Londoners need an injection of strength and pace – and Kanga fits the bill.

Tottenham hope he can play alongside – or be back-up for - Harry Kane.

For while England ace  Kane  top scored with 25 goals in Premier League to win the Golden Boot, Spurs had few alternatives to the homegrown centre forward.

In fact, with so many fans fearing Spurs were one Kane injury away from disaster last term, it seems Pochettino and Levy are trying to hard to change the situation for 2016-17.

He saw the effect Rashford, currently with England at the Euros after a whizbang four months operating at the top level, had on United and hopes Kanga can do the same for Tottenham.
