Daniel Sturridge could be handed shock start against Wales as England boss Roy Hodgson considers dropping Harry Kane
Tottenham striker looked jaded against Russia and Three Lions boss could turn to Liverpool man
ROY HODGSON could hand Daniel Sturridge a shock start against Wales.
The England boss is monitoring Harry Kane, who appeared jaded in the 1-1 draw with Russia.
But the Spurs star, 22, is still desperate to play in Lens on Thursday.
Hodgson believes Liverpool ace Sturridge could add pace to England’s three-pronged attack.
The hotshot, 26, has played just 12 minutes since the end of the season — against Portugal.
However, he has looked sharp in training and with England under pressure to grab a win, Hodgson could play the Liverpool duo of Sturridge and Adam Lallana pushing up along with ex-club mate Raheem Sterling.
But starting Sturridge would still be a gamble due to his lack of games.
Kane, who scored 25 Prem goals last season, has no doubts he will come good.
England were given the day off on Monday with some players heading into Paris to shop.
