Theo Walcott wanted by Liverpool in £25m transfer as he looks set for Arsenal exit
Jurgen Klopp hoping to offer England discard more first team game time than he can expect to get at the Emirates
LIVERPOOL are hoping to land Theo Walcott from Arsenal for £25million.
Walcott held talks with Gunners' boss Arsene Wenger at the end of the season and the pair apparently agreed that he will mainly compete for a place on the right – rather than as a central striker – from now on.
But insiders say Walcott, injury-prone for so much of his career at The Emirates, is looking for a new start and it could happen with a four-year deal at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp is thought to be in the market for a quick, versatile attacker and Walcott fits the bill.
The emergence of Alex Iwobi last season means Walcott, 27, will potentially get even less game time at The Emirates if he stays.
The former Southampton winger has already missed out on a place in the England squad at Euro 2016, having made only 23 starts and been named on the Arsenal bench 21 times in 2015/16.
