Man United transfer news: Zlatan Ibrahimovic banned from flying out of France to complete Old Trafford move
Sweden superstar will not be allowed to leave his side's training camp to reunited with Jose Mourinho in England
MANCHESTER UNITED will not be able to complete the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic while he is at Euro 2016 with Sweden.
The free-agent is hotly tipped to join up with Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho in the Premier League, after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
However, the 34-year-old will not be granted special permission to leave the national side’s training camp to complete the deal.
Sweden boss Erik Hamren has clearly stated that the former Ajax, Barcelona and Inter Milan man is banned from flying out of France to pen any agreement in England
Hamren said: “Players have their leisure time on the schedule – there’s nothing I can control. But it would not be OK for Zlatan to fly to Manchester.
“I’m 100% sure it will not affect Zlatan. He has been in the business a long time.
“I understand there is a lot of Zlatan media. Not only in Sweden. I understand that.
“But with us, it is nothing. He handles it perfectly. The players are familiar with it."
Back during Euro 2004, England midfielder Steven Gerrard was accused of letting interest from Chelsea mess with his head on international duty.
While the Three Lions were away falling short in Portugal, Portuguese Jose Mourinho was trying to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
Gerrard’s back-pass in the opening group game against France was intercepted by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, who won a penalty when he was cleaned out by David James.
But Hamren insists there is no chance of Ibrahimovic being distracted by his own transfer saga this summer.
He said: “You can be calm – there is nothing that has affected us negatively in the group. Absolutely nothing.”
