Luis Suarez ‘very upset’ after Ronald Koeman’s brutal one-minute phone call to tell him to leave Barcelona
LUIS SUAREZ was reportedly left stunned by a blunt phone call with Ronald Koeman that slammed the door on his Barcelona career.
After six years at the Camp Nou, the Uruguayan is widely tipped to be leaving the club this summer as part of the club's massive overhaul.
Furthermore, he is said to be upset at receiving just a 60-second telephone call from Koeman with radio silence from club president Josep Maria Bartomeu on the matter.
Suarez has reportedly vowed not to make life difficult for Barcelona if he is to leave.
Yet he has already voiced his anger at how the club is dealing with his future.
Suarez told last week: "There is talk of some names that the president gave, of changes that can be made, but nobody told me that they want to do without me.
"If this is the desire of the club, it would be good if the person in charge who chooses speaks directly to me.
That would mean paying off the final year of his deal, thought to be worth a considerable £405,000-a-week.
Suarez has been a consistent goalscoring force since signing from Liverpool in 2014, netting almost 200 times for Barcelona.
Ajax, Juventus and Inter Miami have all been named as potential next destinations.
Former Netherlands boss Koeman, who has also played for and managed Ajax, even recently joked that he will send Suarez to Amsterdam.
Mundo Deportivo claim that the South American is far from the only player being moved on in the Catalans' revamp.
Samuel Umtiti, Arturo Vidal and Ivan Rakitic are also reportedly up for sale after Barcelona changed coach and sporting director.
