LUIS SUAREZ was reportedly left stunned by a blunt phone call with Ronald Koeman that slammed the door on his Barcelona career.
After six years at the Camp Nou, the Uruguayan is widely tipped to be leaving the club this summer as part of the club's massive overhaul.
New boss Koeman delivered the news to Suarez, who was reportedly left hurt at the way his situation is being handled.
Barcelona-based newspaper detail how the striker feels singled out for the team's wider failings after their shock 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League - a game in which Suarez scored.
Furthermore, he is said to be upset at receiving just a 60-second telephone call from Koeman with radio silence from club president Josep Maria Bartomeu on the matter.
Suarez has reportedly vowed not to make life difficult for Barcelona if he is to leave.
Yet he has already voiced his anger at how the club is dealing with his future.
Suarez told last week: "There is talk of some names that the president gave, of changes that can be made, but nobody told me that they want to do without me.
"If this is the desire of the club, it would be good if the person in charge who chooses speaks directly to me.
"Better so than filter if I am one of those who want them to leave. It remains to be seen.
"I also want the best for the club and my idea today is to continue, but if the club decides that I am expendable, I have no problem talking to those who decide."
NOT SO FOND FAREWELL
The Blaugrana are expected to green light his exit on a free transfer, with the player now 33 and suffering from an increasingly troublesome injury record.
However, Spanish radio station outlines Suarez's preference to be released from his contract.
That would mean paying off the final year of his deal, thought to be worth a considerable £405,000-a-week.
Suarez has been a consistent goalscoring force since signing from Liverpool in 2014, netting almost 200 times for Barcelona.
