Sweden striker in line for £1million pay-out if he lets contract expire
ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC is delaying agreeing to sign for Manchester United so he can collect a £1million loyalty bonus from Paris Saint-Germain.
United have held positive talks with the Sweden star over a one-year £250,000-a-week deal at Old Trafford.
But the reason no official announcement has been made confirming his move to the Premier League is because Ibrahimovic stands to pocket seven figures as a loyalty bonus from PSG.
Ibrahimovic’s contract with the French champions runs out at the end of June, at which point the club are due to pay him the £1m sum.
But if the 34-year-old signed for another side before his existing contract expired, he would lose the right to the payment.
United have been made aware of the situation by Ibrahimovic and his agent Mino Raiola and are happy to wait to officially confirm the transfer, confident they have got their man.
Boss Jose Mourinho believes the former Inter and Barcelona star is the ideal man to make a short term impact in his first season at Old Trafford, both on and off the pitch.

Now he has turned his attentions to bolstering the squad in other areas, with Villareal defender Eric Bailly already completing his medical ahead of a £30million move.
Mourinho is also hoping to take Nemandja Matic to the north west, with the Serbian defender telling Chelsea he is keen to make the move to their Premier League rivals.
Ibrahimovic is now expected to concentrate on Sweden's Euro 2016 campaign before making any official announcement on his future.
