Russia in the mood for a scrap as star player warns England they are ‘ready to kill on the field’ ahead of Euro 2016 opener
Denis Glushakov writes off Three Lions' chances in summer tournament but admits Wayne Rooney is pick of the bunch
RUSSIA midfielder Denis Glushakov has claimed England will be his side’s “easiest” Euro 2016 opponents.
The Russians are first up for Roy Hodgson’s side in Marseilles on Saturday.
And Spartak Moscow man Glushakov, set to be the defensive holder in the Stade Velodrome, has stirred up the Three Lions by writing them off.
Glushakov said: “In my personal opinion it will be easier to play against England than Slovakia and Wales.
“Our mood is that we are ready to fight. We are ready to kill them on the field, or die trying.
“But we know we have start the tournament with a win.

“We are not saying the English team is poor. The whole side is good although the one that stands out is Wayne Rooney.
“But things are in our favour. In our last two games we have lost and then drawn - so therefore we are bound to win the next game!”
Russia coach Leonis Slutsky was facing further injury problems ahead of Saturday’s game.
Slutsky has already lost three key men in Denis Cheryshev, Alan Dzagoev and Igor Denisov, while veteran defender Vasili Berezutski and midfielder Oleg Shatov are doubts for the week end after again missing training yesterday.
Defender Sergey Ignashevich claims England will be happy with a draw.
He said: “A draw against England will be good result for us.
“But it will be for them as well as for them. Because if you get seven points at the end of the group stage, you’ll be 100 per cent at the knockout stages.”
