LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp was spotted watching the Copa America match between Argentina and Chile on Monday night.
Rumours on social media claimed that the Reds boss was sitting with Nicolas Higuain, the agent and brother of Napoli hotshot Gonzalo Higuain - who the Reds have been chasing - but was it actually him?
Images of Klopp and the mystery man circulated like wildfire, prompting rumours that Klopp was wrapping up a deal for the striker.
Klopp left the stadium after 75 minutes, moments after Higuain was substituted, only prompting more speculation that the German had been at Levi's Stadium for one thing.
Liverpool fans became understandably excited at the news - Higuain set a record for goals in the notoriously defensive Serie A last season, bagging a whopping 36 in 35 matches.
With £32million Christian Benteke barely managing to climb off the bench under Klopp and Daniel Sturridge failing to win his trust after a number of minor injuries, it was rumoured that Liverpool would make a big splash on a striker this summer.
Roberto Firmino was often used in the position last season, even though he prefers a role as a second striker.
But, to the disappointment of many Reds fans, others have claimed that Klopp wasn't actually sitting with Nicolas at all.
Further images that appeared on Tuesday morning led to claims that Klopp was in fact in the stadium with his son Marc.
Closer inspection of the images appear to show the man bearing more of a resemblance to Marc than they do to Nicolas.
Higuain's brother has a noticeable scar on his forehead, while the man in the pictures has no such mark.
Also, the man standing next to the Liverpool manager has a much rounder face than Higuain's agent and brother.
It doesn't mean that Klopp is not interested in the striker, far from it, but a deal certainly wasn't wrapped up on Monday night.
