PSG eye Arturo Vidal transfer after boss Tuchel ‘makes contact’ with Barcelona star amid Inter Milan interest

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are eyeing up a move for Arturo Vidal - with Thomas Tuchel contacting the Barcelona star, according to reports.

The Chilean midfielder, 33, was a bit-part player at the Nou Camp in 2019-20.

Vidal played 33 times in all competitions, but mostly off the bench.

And with Barcelona set for a monster overhaul this summer, Vidal - who is out of contract next summer - is set to be sold.

PSG are hoping to take advantage of the Spanish side's fire-sale and land the former Bayern Munich star, according to Chilean outlet La Cuarta.

However, they face competition from Inter Milan, who are set to continue their spending spree on Vidal.

Barcelona endured a 2019-20 to forget, throwing away the LaLiga crown after a post-lockdown collapse, allowing arch-rivals Real Madrid to win the title.

It was the first time Vidal had missed out on a league trophy since 2011.

Barca were then thumped 8-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-finals to kick up a storm of issues.

Quique Setien has been sacked and replaced by Ronald Koeman - while director Eric Abidal also left the club.

And reports claim just six players are safe from the axe, with seven - including Vidal - actively being sold.

The rest of the squad are all available for transfer this summer.
