Vardy, 29, flew to France yesterday with his club future literally up in the air.

Sources close to the England star say even Vardy himself does not know whether he will join the Gunners in a £120,000-a-week deal.

Arsenal 24-goal hitman’s release clause and offered him a four-year contract — but the Foxes are desperately trying to persuade him to stay put.

Vardy signed a new contract in February which raised his weekly wage to £80,000.

But Leicester’s Thai owners have now made an improved offer.

Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson has said he doesn’t want any transfer talk distracting his players during the championships, which kick-off on Friday.

However, negotiations between Leicester, Vardy and Arsenal are essentially over.

And Vardy is prepared to wait until AFTER the tournament before making a decision.

If he does go to the Emirates, Theo Walcott could leave after a decade, with West Ham favourites for his signature.
