EURO 2016 is nearly here, and it does not mean that we will just get to see the best players in the world showcasing their silky skills, it also means the finest Wags will be gracing us with their presence at the tournament in France.

Here, SunSport runs the rule over the top wives and girlfriends from each nation. It was not an easy decision.

LUDIVINE KADRI SAGNA (FRANCE)

Talk about home advantage. Mrs Bacary Sagna is guaranteed to lift French hearts and hopes. No wonder Arsenal fans were gutted when her husband departed for Manchester City.

SABRINA CHIRICHES (ROMANIA)

Vlad Chiriches may not have made an impact at Tottenham but, ask yourself, who's had the last laugh. He's married to this beauty, is living the high life in Naples and is going to play at Euro 2016. You're not.

MONICA ERCOLI (ALBANIA)

Albania's Wags would not be our specialist subject in Mastermind. But Lorik Cana sure knows how to pick'em. He arrived at Sunderland with a former Miss Universe, now he's wed to Italian Monica. Alas, poor Lorik? Maybe not.

ELENA BONZANNI (SWITZERLAND)

When Valon Behrami captured the heart of model and presenter Elena, Switzerland likened them to Posh and Becks. The most glamorous couple to come out of Watford...just ahead of Elton John and David Furnish.

SAM COOKE (ENGLAND)

Chris Smalling's performances improved the minute Louis van Gaal stopped calling him Mike. Or maybe it was a result of him dating Sun Page 3 legend Sam. She could even make LVG's training sessions look sexy.

DARIA GLUSHAKOVA (RUSSIA)

Denis Glushakov's missus is gorgeous and, in truth, a little bit scary as she's also a dentist. We'd like to think her husband will reprise Gazza's Dentist Chair celebration if he finds the net during the tournament.

EMMA RHYS-JONES (WALES)

Gareth Bale's school sweetheart isn't really a Wag. She doesn't seek the limelight and would rather live a normal life. Of course when your fella earns £250k a week, her definition of normal is probably a tad different to ours.

BARBORA LOVASOVA (SLOVAKIA)

The best thing about Martin Skrtel's lady is she's not averse to being snapped in a bikini. And while her hubby appears to have been made from granite, we're happy to see she has been sculpted in a far more pleasing way.

ANN KATHRIN BROMMEL (GERMANY)

Like is sickeningly sweet for Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze. If scoring the winning goal in a World Cup final wasn't enough to make us jealous, he's only gone and bagged a lingerie model. He'll win the lottery next!

INNA YARMOLENKO (UKRAINE)

Heaven knows why Andiy Yarmolenko hasn't moved to the Premier League yet. Forget the fact we have been deprived of watching him on the wing, the sight of his wife is surely worth the transfer fee alone.

ANNA STACHURSKA (POLAND)

Robert Lewandwoski is used to netting beauties and has come up with a cracker here. Keep-fit fanatic Anna won a bronze medal at the 2009 Karate World Cup and would be an impressive score in Scrabble.

VANESSA CHUNG (NORTHERN IRELAND)

Kyle Lafferty seems to have a fixation with the Miss Scotland competition! He was married to a former winner and recently wed another entrant, Vanessa. Let's hope she's OK with a honeymoon in France.

EDURNE GARCIA ALMAGRO (SPAIN)

David De Gea's girl is a bit of a celebrity back home. The singer and TV star represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest where she finished, er, 21st. At least she has her looks to fall back on.

MARTINA CECHOVA (CZECH REPUBLIC)

Petr Cech met his wife when they were in high school - which proves she's a keeper. Stunner Martina is an aerobics expert and will teach you Zumba*

Midfielder Arda Turan was left kicking his heels while he seemingly waited an age to make his Barcelona debut. We would feel sorry for him but he did have the lovely Alishan to keep him company during his free time.

VANJA BOSNIC (CROATIA)

Luka Modric may look like Gail Platt from Corrie but he couldn't have scripted his love life any better. Gorgeous Vanja is a football agent and knows the game, which is probably why he ended up at Real Madrid.

POLLY PARSONS (BELGIUM)

Thomas Vermaelen picked up the FA Cup and the delectable Polly at Arsenal. The Bristol-born beauty was engaged to EastEnders actor Sid Owen, he of 'Rickaay' fame. Now she's in Barcelona. Sensible transfer.

VIKTORIA VARGA (ITALY)

The story goes Graziano Pelle was so love-struck by this Hungarian model, he turned sinner to Saint overnight. After seeing her Facebook photo, he jumped on a plane to Budapest to find her. Can't blame him!

KAYLEAH LONG (REPUBLIC OF IRELAND)

Shane Long has seen a few handbags - on and off the pitch. Wife Kayleah designs them, in between modelling and generally looking divine. Having met as teenagers in reading, they are clearly here for the Long haul.

JOSEFINE RINGBLOM (SWEDEN)

Mamma mia, here we go again. It's another stunner from Sweden. Marcus Berg's wife Josefine is, yes, you guessed it, a model. Also a fashion and lifestyle blogger, she studied textile economy, whatever that is.

DANIELA MARTINS (PORTUGAL)

Rumour has it Nani is on his way back to England - along with his model miss. Daniela apparently prefers the North-West to Istanbul, where he plays for Fenerbahce. Everton fans could be seeing her shortly.

ALEXANDRA IVARSDOTTIR (ICELAND)

Gylfi Sigurdsson's other half would attract the attention of most Icelandic 'geysers'. She was crowned Miss Iceland in 2008, has studied psychology and lists reindeer steak as one of her favourite foods. Nice.

SARAH ARNAUTOVIC (AUSTRIA)

By his own admission, Marko Arnautovic used to be the bad-boy of Austrian football. But he has changed his wild ways. For that, you can give credit to lovely wife Sarah, the arrival of kids and a move to, er, Stoke.

ZSANETT LENART (HUNGARY)

On the face of it, Daniel Tozser can feel miffed. he played in eight of Hungary's qualifiers yet was axed for the tournament itself. But he does have wife Zsanett waiting at home, so that should soften the blow.
