Alexis Sanchez will join Inter Milan on free transfer as Italians ‘pick up £500k-a-week wages’
INTER MILAN are on the brink of clinching a permanent deal for Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez - reportedly on a free transfer.
The Chile striker is in Inter's Europa League squad after his improved loan form helped Antonio Conte's men soar to a second-place finish in Serie A, just a point off Juventus.
Former Arsenal hero Sanchez, 31, bagged three goals and seven assists, coming off the bench in Saturday's 2-0 win at Atalanta.
And on Monday the Nerazzurri included him in their 25-man selection for the shortened Euro tournament.
Inter were keen not to pick up Sanchez's huge £500,000-a-week wages in full, while United are keen to get the money off their books.
And according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, a deal has been struck which suits all parties as the former Arsenal ace tries to put his time at Old Trafford behind him.

Fellow loanee Victor Moses is also in the squad, anticipating an extension of his stay from Chelsea.
But the biggest development is Sanchez edging near a move before Wednesday night's Europa League tie against Getafe.
United were said not be interested in a fresh loan move for Sanchez or fellow Serie A star Chris Smalling, who is at Roma.
