Liverpool transfer news: Jurgen Klopp aiming to bring Kop legend Pepe Reina back to Anfield after superb Napoli stint
German manager hoping to oversee the return of Spanish former Reds goalkeeper to boost weak keeping ranks
LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp is lining up an incredible swoop for Kop legend Pepe Reina.
The Spanish stopper, 33, is currently at Serie A side Napoli — who finished second in Serie A in 2015-16.
Reina was the Anfield No1 for a nearly a decade between 2005 and 2014, amassing 285 Premier League appearances.
However, he moved to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in 2014, where he played on three times all season.
Reina then copped a move to Serie A where he linked up with former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.

After a much more successful season — playing 37 of the Naples outfit’s 38 games — German Kop boss Klopp is eyeing up an audacious bid, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Klopp has already made a move to bolster his weak shot-stopping ranks, bringing in Loris Karius from Mainz for £4.7million.
However, Simon Mignolet only recently put pen to paper on a new five-year deal at Liverpool, meaning a move away from Anfield may prove difficult.
Reds fans will undoubtedly be licking their lips at the prospect of bringing Reina back to the club he spent nine seasons at after establishing himself as a firm fan favourite.
The Spaniard’s experience could prove crucial as young Liverpool stoppers Mignolet, Danny Ward and Adam Bogdan showed their nerves a number of times last term.
And with Klopp aiming to start something big on Merseyside, a move for Reina could be just the ticket.
Next up, Xabi Alonso, anyone?
