OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER showed Bruno Fernandes who was boss after screaming at his star man for not doing his defensive duties.

With an £80million Champions League jackpot on the line, the Norwegian boss was feeling the heat during their crucial 2-0 win against Leicester.

A defeat would have meant the Foxes would pip the Red Devils to fourth and book their spot in Europe's most prestigious competition.

So it was no wonder Solskjaer blew his top when Fernandes was caught whinging at the referee following a strong tackle from James Justin.

The gaffer was furious that Fernandes moaned at the decision instead of getting back to do his defensive duties.

Luckily for the £67million man, Leicester's attack came to nothing before his penalty ensured United's third-place finish.

Anthony Martial was hacked down in the penalty error after Mason Greenwood pinched the ball from Hamza Choudhury.

Fernandes stepped up and confidently stroked the ball into the corner in what was a Prem record 14th league penalty won by United this season.

Solskjaer, a lot more relaxed at the full-time whistle, said of the incident: "You can see his passion because he's moaning a little here and there and we'll have to take that away from him sometimes!"

It was his eighth league goal since his January move from Sporting Lisbon and has been integral in the club's late charge for the Champions League.

Solskjaer also had a pop at Martial when he accused the Frenchman of not being urgent with his passing.

But any late nerves in the contest were eased when Jesse Lingard pounced on Kasper Schmeichel's error to put United 2-0 ahead at the death.
