Chelsea transfer news: Tomas Kalas ready to quit Stamford Bridge and make permanant switch to Middlesbrough

CHELSEA’s Tomas Kalas looks set to return to Middlesbrough on a permanent
deal.

The Czech international, 23, has spent a total of 16 months on loan at the
Championship winners and would welcome a return to Teeside.

Kalas has two years left on his current Chelsea deal, but is well down the
pecking order, and has made just two starts since moving to Stamford Bridge
in 2010.

The youngster went on loan to Vitesse Arnhem

With John Terry staying for another year — and surely the main back-up — the
versatile defender looks set to move.

The 23-year-old would relish a chance to help Boro make their mark back in the
big time after proving a vital cog in their promotion push.

On his future, he said: “I joined Middlesbrough to play games and that’s what
I’ve done. If I could get a permanent deal I’d really think about it.”

Kalas has only made two Premier League appearances

Since joining Chelsea six years ago, Kalas has been farmed out on loan every
year, including spells at Vitesse Arnhem, FC Koln and finally Boro.
