Everton transfer news: Toffees will move for Kostas Manolas if John Stones leaves Goodison Park
Manchester City will turn to Greek defender if they fail to land England star this summer
Greek stopper Kostas Manolas is a wanted man — depending on what happens to John Stones.
The £20million-rated Roma defender is top of Everton’s hit list if they cannot keep hold of Stones.
Yet Manolas, 24, will also be the player Manchester City turn to if they fail to land the England star.
Stones is keen to move on at the end of the season after being left out of the Toffees side since a slight injury two months ago.
The prospect of playing Champions League football at a higher profile club would leave Everton facing a battle they will struggle to win.
Manolas, 24, is contracted to Roma for another three years but a bid close to the £12m he cost from Olympiakos could tempt them into selling.
Chelsea, Arsenal and other big European clubs are also keeping tabs on him.
