Wayne Rooney to make Manchester United return for Under-21s side against Middlesbrough

Wayne Rooney will return from injury for Manchester United’s Under-21s side next Monday against Middlesbrough.
The Red Devils and England captain has been out since February after suffering knee ligament damage in February against Sunderland.
Manager Louis van Gaal had hinted that the 30-year-old would be involved in last night’s clash with Chelsea’s young guns, but the striker must wait another week to step up his recovery.
He is pencilled in to start their clash with Boro at Old Trafford next week.
A Kasey Palmer free-kick was cancelled out in the second-half as United’s U21s came from behind to draw 1-1 at Old Trafford against the West London side.
England international Phil Jones had his first outing for three months, playing 80 minutes of the match, after recovering from the ankle injury he picked up in January.
Ashley Young looks like he is ready to return to Van Gaal’s starting XI as he followed up his return to the first-team bench on Sunday with a start against the young Blues.
Adnan Januzaj was not involved through injury.
