Atletico Madrid’s hopes of landing Chelsea’s Diego Costa take a hit

Agent Jorge Mendes offers Spain striker to Paris Saint-Germain

Chelsea ace Diego Costa has been offered to Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.

The Spain international has been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit this summer after apparently becoming ‘unsettled and frustrated’ with life in London.

Costa is currently serving a three-match ban after being sent off in the FA Cup defeat to Everton, and was left out of Vicente del Bosque’s recent national squad.

Atletico Madrid are believed to be keen on a big-money reunion after selling Costa to Chelsea for £32million in 2014.

Diego Simeone is ready to splash the cash after receiving £33.5m for flop Jackson Martinez in January, and wants Costa to re-join ex-Blue Filipe Luis at the Vicente Calderon.

But Atletico’s hopes of signing the 27-year-old have reportedly taken a blow after Costa was offered to oil-rich French champions PSG instead.

France Football claims that super-agent Jorge Mendes – who also represents the likes of Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo – has told Laurent Blanc his client will be available at the end of the season, and Costa could arrive at the Parc des Princes as a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The veteran forward will leave Ligue 1 after four successful years when his contract expires in June, and is expected to finally test himself in the Premier League.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a swoop for Ibrahimovic, although Manchester United are the bookies’ favourites to land the free agent.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger remains interested, with West Ham co-owner David Sullivan also admitting his desire to sign the Swede.
