Conte, 46, is ready to sign a deal worth £5million per season to take charge of the Blues.

Sources close to the Italian said he was set to meet with Chelsea officials and put pen to paper despite being unable to take up his duties full-time until the end of Italy’s Euro 2016 involvement.
Issues over Conte’s planned backroom staff appear to have been sorted out with the in-coming manager bringing at least five of his hand-picked assistants with him.

Chief among those will be his brother and main tactical advisor Gianluca, as well as coaches Angelo Alessio, Massimo Carrera, Mauro Sandreani and fitness guru Paolo Bertelli.

Conte has also been approached by AC Milan but has made clear his intention after quitting Italy was to try out the Premier League, undergoing intensive English language training in Bath.

It is unclear whether Steve Holland, who worked under Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto Di Matteo, Rafa Benitez, Jose Mourinho and current interim Guus Hiddink, will be maintained on Conte’s staff or leave the club.
