Chelsea transfer boost with Dries Mertens wanting move to London with Napoli star available on free this summer

CHELSEA target Dries Mertens is interested in a move to London, according to reports.
Frank Lampard was eyeing the Napoli star in January, as the Blues went after another centre forward.
A deal failed to materialise, with Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi subsequently staying put at Stamford Bridge.
But with Mertens' contract with the Serie A side set to expire on June 30, Chelsea are likely to go after the Belgian once again.
And their hopes of finally landing him have been given a boost, with the claiming that a move to London interests the 32-year-old.
The coronavirus pandemic is set to have a huge impact on the summer's window, so Mertens' availability on a free makes him even more desirable.
Chelsea are believed to be targeting a striker, centre-back and left-back.

Mertens has played up front for Napoli in recent seasons, so ticks that box.
But having also played as a wide forward in his career, and turning 33 next week, he could act as an experienced replacement for the out-of-contract Willian and Pedro.
Neither are currently expected to renew their Chelsea deals, with the latter having already confirmed that he will leave Stamford Bridge after a five-year stay.

Mertens created history earlier this year when he drew level with Marek Hamsik as Napoli's joint all-time leading goalscorer on 121 after netting against Barcelona on February 25.
The 5ft 7in attacker enjoyed his best goalscoring season under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri three years ago, when he bagged 28 in 34 Serie A appearances.
Mertens, who has won 90 caps for Belgium, is set to attract plenty of interest in the summer - but the Blues appear to be in the driving seat.
