He has just 15 months remaining on his Gunners contract, with renewal talks believed to have been shelved for now.

A number of clubs are interested in securing his services, but Inter appear to be the current front-runners.

Aubameyang came through the academy at AC Milan, and according to , is eager for a return to the city.

They also claim that the Gabonese striker has made contact with several of Inter's first-team stars to discuss a potential transfer.

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made a habit of bringing players to the San Siro from the Premier League, having so far signed Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Victor Moses, Ashley Young and Christian Eriksen.

Aubameyang is believed to want £300,000-a-week if he is to stay at Arsenal, however.

While this large figure has put off his current employers, they could also limit his options in terms of his next.

Conte's side wouldn't be able to match that desired salary.

This could potentially open the door to the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and Chelsea, who are also thought to be keen.

Aubameyang has scored 17 goals in 26 Premier League outings this season - a staggering 42.5 per cent of the Gunners' total haul.

As well as a wage increase, he is also thought to want Champions League football, having not actually played in the competition since leaving Borussia Dortmund in 2018.
