POG OF WAR

Inter Milan spark four-way Paul Pogba transfer war but Man Utd ‘relaxed’ over star with option to extend his contract

INTER MILAN have sparked a four-way battle to sign Paul Pogba in the summer, according to reports.

The Frenchman, 27, remains unsettled at Old Trafford and has frequently been linked with moves away, especially after conceding "it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else".

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is very keen to lure the British record signing to the Bernabeu.

A return to Juventus, where he spent four years between 2012 and 2016, is another possibility.

Paris Saint-Germain may also opt to make a move, and would be able to afford the midfielder, especially if they sold Neymar to Barcelona or Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid.

Pogba grew up in the suburb of Lagny-sur-Marne in eastern Paris so would no doubt relish the chance to represent his hometown club.

But now Tuttosport in Italy reckon Inter Milan are also hoping to seal a deal for Pogba.

The report adds that Pogba's agent Mino Raiola and Inter Milan have not done business together since Mario Balotelli joined Manchester City ten years ago.

But they are willing to put their differences and disputes aside to work on Pogba's transfer.

Inter boss Antonio Conte has already assembled five Premier League players at the San Siro - including Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young and Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United.

Now he is looking to add another in the shape of the World Cup winner.

Pogba's contract at Old Trafford expires next year, although the Red Devils do have an option to lengthen that by a further 12 months to the summer of 2022.

However, the report that the club are yet to trigger that extension but do remain relaxed about the star's future.

Pogba has played just eight times this season due to an ankle injury, with his last appearance coming against Newcastle on Boxing Day.
