Champions League final 2020 ‘pencilled in’ for August 29 as Uefa plan showdown for when domestic football seasons finish
THE 2020 Champions League final has been "pencilled in" for August 29, with Uefa planning to complete the continental campaigns AFTER the domestic seasons are finished.
All football in Europe has ground to a halt due to the threat of coronavirus - with Uefa chiefs to meet next Thursday to decide how best to proceed.

One option being discussed would see European competitions being played in a condensed time-frame after domestic leagues are done and dusted, say the .
Should football be given the green light to go ahead in the next month or two, Uefa are likely to complete the season as normal.
In that instance, the Champions League and Europa League - both stuck at the last-16 stage - would be played alongside normal domestic football.
However, should the Premier League and its European counterparts be forced to delay the season well into the summer, Uefa is set to prioritise league action.
In this scenario, all nations would conclude their domestic campaigns, before a quick-fire conclusion to European football.
The Champions and Europa Leagues would then be played out much like the knockout stages of an international tournament, played to its conclusion with no interruptions from other competitions.
And with that in mind, Uefa bosses have already put a potential date in the diary for the Champions League showdown, set to be held in Istanbul, of August 29.
The Europa League final will be held in Gdansk, but has no predicted date as yet.
