Ex-Chelsea star Arjen Robben reveals wife contracted coronavirus and struggled to breathe for days
BAYERN MUNICH legend Arjen Robben has revealed his wife contracted coronavirus and was struggling to breathe for days on end.
The retired wing wizard went into harrowing detail about his other half Bernadien's battle against the deadly Covid-19 as the world struggles to get to grips with the pandemic.

Speaking to a Bayern podcast - via - Robben recalled what it was really like living with the virus.
The ex-Chelsea and Real Madrid star said: "The worst thing for my wife was that she felt this pressure on her chest and had trouble breathing. That was absolutely not a nice feeling.
"You also notice how long it lasts. It’s not as if you feel better after a day or two. I’m very glad that it didn’t get too bad."

The former Netherlands international called it quits at Bayern in 2019 and the 36-year-old said he was thankful for the help of friends during such a testing time.

The recently retired star has been keeping fit during lockdown and even took part in cyber training with his old Bayern team-mates.
A small virtual taste of the action seems to have given Robben food for thought when it comes to a potential comeback to professional football.
He said: "Of course my feet itch from time to time, and it will probably always stay that way..."
