Inter Milan join Barcelona in £50m transfer race for Arsenal star Aubameyang as replacement for Martinez
INTER MILAN are interested in signing £50million-rated Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.
The Nerazzurri haven't struggled for goals this season, with Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku having banged in 16 and 23 respectively.
But there may be an opening in Antonio Conte's 3-5-2 lineup next season, with Barcelona eager to prise Martinez away from the San Siro.
And according to , Inter are eager to replace their Argentine forward with Aubameyang.
The Gunners, however, are very keen to hold on to their skipper, who turns 31 in June.
But with the Gabonese forward's contract expiring in 2021, Arsenal will not let him run into the final year if they cannot agree terms.
The North Londoners have paid the price of doing this in recent years with star players Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey, and are determined not to lose another of their big name players for free.
Inter will face competition from Barcelona who, as well as being in for Martinez, are also very keen on Aubameyang.
Conte's side are nothing if not ambitious, however, and have a number of alternatives in mind should they fail to sign Arsenal's No14.
Among their other targets are RB Leipzig hitman Timo Werner, as well as Manchester-based duo Gabriel Jesus and Anthony Martial.
