Chelsea to ‘prioritise’ deal for Moussa Dembele when transfer window opens and will fight Man Utd for Lyon striker
CHELSEA are ready to fight Manchester United in the summer for Moussa Dembele after “prioritising” a move for the Lyon striker.
The Blues were believed to be keen on RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner.
Now claim Chelsea are eager to sign Dembele instead.
And they have made him their No1 striking target for the summer window.
The ex-Fulham star, 23, has scored 16 times in 27 French top-flight matches this season, attracting the attention of United also.
After making the breakthrough at Craven Cottage, he left for Celtic in 2016 and got 26 goals in 55 appearances, leading to a switch to Lyon in 2018.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is desperate to bolster his attacking options once the window re-opens.
Tammy Abraham has been promoted to the club’s senior striker since Lampard’s arrival and he has responded with 13 Premier League goals.

But Olivier Giroud is out of contract in June and Michy Batshuayi has failed to impress when called upon.
That leaves the Stamford Bridge outfit desperate for extra firepower, and now it seems they know exactly the man they want.
Chelsea are currently fourth in the table and battling it out to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
