MANCHESTER UNITED star Bruno Fernandes revealed Cristiano Ronaldo is his 'idol' after hailing the Juventus ace for giving him advice.
The 25-year-old has followed in the steps of his Portugal team-mate in sealing a move to Old Trafford from boyhood club Sporting Lisbon.
The £55million midfielder has already endeared himself to the United faithful after picking up the Premier League Player of the Month from his first nine games.
Fernandes revealed that a chat with Ronaldo helped convince him to join the Red Devils, with two friends from their time together with Portugal's National team.

Speaking to , he said: "He welcomed me very well to the Portugal national team.
“We look at him as an idol, he has always been an idol for me. I followed his example, he is one of my favourites.
“When I was called up by Portugal, he came to me saying, ‘You are doing a good job at Sporting, I like it’. Words like these make the difference.”
Juventus forward Ronaldo scooped three Premier League titles, the Champions League, and the first of his five Ballon d'Or's with United before completing a then world-record £80m transfer to Real Madrid.
Therefore it is a mark of how much of an impact Fernandes has already made at the club that fans have adorned him with a song that compares him to CR7.
And the Portuguese Magnifico agreed his move to United was like a match made in heaven.

Fernandes added: “When I arrived for the medicals, everything impressed me. At the training ground, you can find everything.
“At Old Trafford you warm up with nobody in the stands, you hear nothing in the tunnel, and then you enter the pitch and you hear an incredible noise.
“If you talk about stadiums that everyone knows, the most historic are San Siro and Old Trafford.”
