Man Utd Treble winners not even in top 10 highest average Premier League points per game, with Klopp’s Liverpool top

MANCHESTER UNITED'S Treble-winners of 1998-99 don't even make the top ten teams in Premier League history, based on points per game - with the current Liverpool team top.
The 2019-20 Reds XI have stormed to the top of the table this term, winning 27 of their 29 matches for an average of 2.83 points per game.
No other team even comes close to that tally, with the world famous United team of 1998-99 - under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson - not even cracking the top ten.
In fact, they are way down in 42nd on the all-time list - even behind the 2013-14 Arsenal side... who finished FOURTH.
The Red Devils won just 22 matches in their Treble-winning campaign, drawing a staggering 13 times and losing three.
That's an average of 2.08 points per game in the league but, of course, they also lifted the Champions League and FA Cup trophies.
That's miles adrift of the front-runners in the all-time list behind their fiercest rivals - Liverpool and Manchester City.
Behind the current Reds crop are Man City, whose 2017-18 season saw them win the league after racking up 2.63 points per game.

The Etihad side also take the third spot, after their performances last term finished with them earning an average points per game of 2.58.
Incredibly, Liverpool sit fourth in the table in a season they failed to win the Premier League - the only side in the top ten to do so.
Jurgen Klopp's men finished second in an exhilarating 2018-19 season, just one point behind champions City.
But their spectacular season saw them accrue 2.55 points per game - as well as winning the Champions League.
Chelsea occupy both the fifth and sixth spots, thanks to their title-winning seasons of 2004-05 and 2016-17.
