BRUNO FERNANDES is fast-becoming the new king of Old Trafford – and he cheekily endeared himself even further to Manchester United fans today.
The midfielder, 25, produced a moment of brilliance to help the Red Devils claim bragging rights over their local rivals.
His quick dink over the City defence from a free-kick perfectly teed-up up Anthony Martial for the opening goal on half hour.
And Scott McTominay sealed the a 2-0 victory in the dying seconds as he pounced on an Ederson mistake.
Fernandes was already off the field at that point as he was replaced by Odion Ighalo with just two minutes of normal time remaining.
However, footage has now emerged of an incident just before that will instantly strengthen the affection of the Stretford End towards the Portuguese new boy.
He managed to silence opposition boss Pep Guardiola with a cocky gesture following an angry exchange between the two.
The City manager was shouting at the ex-Sporting Lisbon star down the touchline, when the attacker just turned around and pressed his finger to his mouth in a shushing motion.
And thankfully a number of eagle-eyed fans spotted his actions as the clip soon went viral.
United are now three points off a top four place, with the last place currently occupied by Chelsea.
For Manchester United boss Ole Solskjaer it was another example that the new man from Sporting Lisbon has the right ingredients to be a Manchester United player.
Solskjaer said: "You need character at this club but this team they have got that. They have learned through some hard times this season.
"We have started something we believe in and Bruno has helped that."
The Norwegian added: "He has everything. He works hard, he is humble enough. He has the desire commitment but is also the risk taker."
