Philippe Coutinho rules out Liverpool return to ‘reach my dreams’ despite Bayern Munich and Barcelona snubs

The Brazilian is on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona but his future remains uncertain as the Catalans want to sell while the Bundesliga champs do not want to buy.

Coutinho, 27, left Anfield for the Nou Camp in an eye-watering £145million deal in January 2018.

But after a frustrating 18 months at Barca, he made the switch to Munich in a £19million loan move last summer.

And only yesterday, reports emerged suggesting the playmaker had agreed to part ways with Barca this summer.

But any chance of a touching Liverpool return was poo-pooed by Coutinho in an interview with .

He said: "I don't look back. I took another path, and now I am on another journey, much like everyone else.

"I'm focused entirely – just like them – on reaching my dreams.

"I'm happy with what I did in the past, and now I can only look forward."

Coutinho's old team are on course for their first English title win in 30 years - that came before the Premier League era in 1990 - and are attempting to defend their Champions League title.

But despite his old club's success, the ex-Inter Milan man feels no bitterness.

He added: "Liverpool is flying, and it doesn't surprise me.

"We've seen it already last year when they won the Champions League, but I'm also not surprised because of their fantastic squad and manager.

"I am so happy for them, because I have so many friends there, former team-mates –so I'm just so happy for them.

"But that's all."
