Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also enthused to learn that the player is adaptable to different roles across the midfield without complaint.
The signing is a major boost for Solskjaer who is currently without Paul Pogba and Scot McTominay due to long term injuries.
Although the signing could now open the door for wantaway Pogba to finally leave if someone can match the club’s £150m asking price for the French World Cup winner.
There was growing fans anger over a lack of movement with the transfer window about to slam shut on Friday night.

Solskjaer says they would only sign a player that was right for the club rather than just make up the numbers in his depleted squad.
Solskjaer said: “He said: “We are players down with injuries so we have looked at options but we will not sign players here for the sake of just signing a player to have one more number.
“You have got to be right for the place, if it’s a loan to the summer to help us it’s still got to be someone that helps the squad that is here.
“If it’s a permanent signing it has to be someone that is in our plans for the future.”
